Comparison of display dew point and exhaust dew point of refrigerated dryer

           I believe that everyone is already familiar with air compressors, but how much do you know about the cold dryers that are matched with air compressors?  What is a cold dryer?  What does it do?  Let's do some popular science today.

         Refrigerated dryers, commonly known as cold dryers, refrigerated dryers cool the compressed air, which condenses the water in the compressed air and separates it from the air itself, it is crucial for applications that need to dry the compressed air to a low dew point  Vital air system components.  As can be seen from the picture, moisture cannot be compressed during the air compression process, so it needs to be removed from the compressor (if there is a steam trap drainage function), or the air storage tank, cold dryer, etc. 

         So how to measure the quality of the cold dryer?  In layman's terms, it is dew point.  The dew point is divided into two categories: Atmospheric dew point ADP (Atmosphere Pressure Point), which is the dew point temperature under atmospheric pressure, and pressure dew point PDP (Pressure Dew Point), the temperature at which the gaseous water content in compressed air reaches saturation is called the dew point temperature.  Cold dryers generally use the pressure dew point as the design standard.  And is the temperature displayed on the cold dryer the real pressure dew point temperature?  For the vast majority of equipment on the market, due to the high price of the pressure dew point sensor, the temperature displayed on the actual air dryer is usually not the real pressure dew point.  The above is the temperature of the internal refrigerant detected by the sensor. Whether this temperature is accurate and close to the real pressure dew point temperature depends on the placement of the sensor by each manufacturer.  

           Therefore, the more precise the position, the better the match between the pressure dew point and the displayed dew point.  For the displayed temperature, the lower the displayed dew point temperature, the less the real water content of the compressed air.
